The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors has received dozens and dozens of requests from our friends and fans for CD's and Merchandising. While we would love to accommodate any and all requests, cost for such endeavors are not cheap. Studio costs can go as high as $600 per song, with CD's having as many as 12 – 15 songs per disk. We can negotiate for lower rates when we go into the studio with several songs to record during the same session. The Great Outdoors has many songs in the making, and will be recording them as funds become available. It is a long and slow process.

To speed things up, we are now accepting donations to be used strictly for studio time to record original, and maybe some cover, material. There is absolutely no pressure. We thank you in advance for your generosity, and hope you pass the word. If you leave your name, you will be included in the credits when the CD is released.

Again, The Great Outdoors thanks each and every one of our fans for your support. Without you, we are just a bunch of guys making a lot of noise.

In the mean time, you can enjoy "A Day On" recorded a couple of summers ago. You can purchase it, or just jam along.

The Great Outdoors took second place in The 10th Annual Ox Cart Days Battle Of The Bands yesterday in Crookston, MN claiming a $300 prize. 4 Wheel Drive from Fertile, MN landed third place. Fargo, ND based Sleeping In Gethsemane won the grand prize of $1,000. We pulled off a great show, put up a good fight, but most of all we had a blast. The Great Outdoors would like to tip their hats to Sleeping In Gethsemane. They are an excellent band and worthy of the prize.

After the show, The Great Outdoors hit The Diamond Lounge for some much needed celebration. We had a great time at The D as usual.

The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors will be competing in a Battle of The Bands at Crookston's Central Park in Crookston, MN. The 10th Annual Battle Of The Bands is part of Crookston's Ox Cart Days Festival. The contest starts at 7:30. There are five bands competing for a first place prize of $1,000. Second place gets $300, and third place gets a Band Survival Kit from Kenny's Music Shoppe worth $350. Each band gets 20 minutes of stage time to show their stuff. We hope you can make it to Crookston to show your support.

The Great Outdoors will be participating in the 10th Annual Ox Cart Days Battle Of The Bands. The event takes place August 19th in Crookston, MN. The band is one of several acts to participate. As part of Crookston's Ox Cart Days Festival, the Battle Of The Bands should be a fun filled evening. Last years event had about 600 spectators.
