I was recently sent this video from Dave in Menomonie, WI. It is a good idea, and I am trying to figure out how to implement it when we go on the road. Maybe Stubby will fit the bill. What do you think?
Enjoy y’all.

Hi everyone, the fans of The Great Outdoors!
Sun 8 Jun 2008
Talk about feeling old. Friday, while setting up to play at The Eagle’s club in Park Rapids, MN, my fourth grandchild was being delivered in San Diego, CA. He came out at 7lbs 3oz and 20 inches long, blue eyes, and a bit of red hair. My son, Branden, is still having issues coming up with a name, but the mother and kid are doing great. Any suggestions for a name, shoot me an email. I thought John Doe Folk would be cool, but then again, what do I know. More baby pics.
The Eagle’s club this weekend went fine. We had some friends come out from Cormorant, and Fargo. Road trippin’. Even in these times of over inflated gas prices, it is nice to see some folks aren’t letting it slow them down. Great to see y’all.
Coming up on the 15th is the Stampede reunion in Menomonie, WI at The Pioneer. I am looking forward to that for sure. Cruzin’ Coyote has the reigns for the day, but there will be plenty of jamming Stampede style. We would love to have all our friends come out and enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon. The show starts at 4pm. See you there.
We are starting our outdoor gigs this week. A street dance in Valley City on Friday, and the Red River Valley Fair on Saturday. We also hit the Rusty Nail in Thief River Falls, MN on Thursday.

Voting day is soon upon us. Along with the usual election of certain officers, there will be the smoking ban issues. I must preface this post with the fact that what I think, does not represent the opinions of all the members of The Great Outdoors.
I am a non smoker. As a singer, I truly enjoy not having to breathe in smoke while working. I feel better, and can sing longer. HOWEVER! I am also a musician making the bulk of my living in bars and nightclubs. There are arguments that a ban will not stop a clubs income, but I have seen the struggles bars forced to prohibit smoking first hand. Some have gone by the wayside, and others are still in business. We finished our trip to Grand Forks, ND in usual Great Outdoors fashion. We all had a grand old time. Wednesday and Thursday each had surprisingly above average crowds. Good beginnings for a week of partying. Friday and Saturday didn’t let us down either.
We would like to thank Kyle from Just The Guys for making the trip to Grand Forks to hang out, and sing, with the band during the week. Just The Guys played at the Prairie Rose Inn, formerly Expressway Inn, in Fargo, ND. Silverado’s steel guitarists/fiddler Brian even came out to enjoy some time off on Friday. Kudo’s go out to Cory Campbell for jamming out on some kick butt harmonica over the weekend as well. The man can sure make some noise with that harp.
Thanks for coming out and supporting the band. We are always glad to see our friends. We aren’t scheduled to come back to The Diamond until October 22nd-25th. We will be doing some clubs and fair dates around the Grand Forks, ND area, so keep an eye out for them.
Hope to see y’all there.
